Frostweed is the greatest plant. It is easy to grow from seeds in the shade or sun; and provides a large green leafy foilage with white blossoms in the fall. The bees and butterflies flock to it. I cut it back early in the year if I don't want a tall plant, and it bounces back quickly.

It is also a host plant, I will post more about it under the host plant section later.

I've heard so much about frostweed but have never grown it. Will have to look into getting some seeds to sow at the ranch :o)

Oh yeah Cat! It would actually do alright down there... I probably have some I can dig up and send you in a month or so. Remind me.
Here is a pic with some at the WRES garden, see it over on the left. It's a late bloomer, this was taken in September last year.

Josephine~ Can you tell me what the large leafed plant in the middle is? Haven't seen it bloom yet, but it leafs out nicely. Its the low one with 3 pointed mitten-like leaves.

Deb,

Cool!!! I'd like that. Now as for remembering to email you...remind me to remind you :o)

I've seen photos of that larged leaf plant - but don't know the name either. Hopefully Josephine will solve the mystery.

The large leaf plant reminds me of Giant Ragweed, but I could be wrong.
