Thank you.
Yes, that is her true color in the heat of summer. She starts blooming in June and keeps going the whole summer.
Right now, she is reluctant to root cuttings, I will have to wait for summer temps. She does root better than Mountain Magic in that department.
I grew out JT's seeds in 2008. This cross produced 8 seedlings for me, 7 were pink. This one was the deepest pink. Those were the days when the gene pool was not yet muddied up with all the genes like in the crosses that we see nowadays.

Oh my Brenda! Drooling Those are all beautiful! So I'm reading about your seedlings, and as I've never done this. When you do this crossing, do you get several different color plants from the crossing of just two plants?? Or were those different color seedlings you spoke from several different crosses?? And do you isolate the pollinated bloom in a paper bag or something like that to keep something else from pollinating it or how do you keep that pollinated bloom pure?

You can tape the bloom shut after polinating it...be sure to mark the cross. Each seedling will be a bit different.depending on which parent traits it takes on.

Wow, and closing them with tape won't make them either & fall off, that's amazing too. Prolly takes 2-3 months to form a seed pod. I've never seen a seed pod on a brug as I've grown mine in the ground here & they just barely get to bloom and it frosts here. This year, they are going in pots and I'm going to try some of this cool stuff. Do they make only one seed per pod or are there several in a pod? I'm just full of questions, but I've only seen blooms on mine, then they freeze till next spring.

Each pod gets a bunch of seeds and if I remember it takes 7-9 months for them to mature

And, each seedpod will contain anywhere from 30 to over 100 seeds, it all depends on Mother Nature. In my experience, it takes anywhere from 4 to 9 months to mature, again, depending on Mother Nature. At any rate, you should have more than enough seeds from one pod to grow out as many seedlings as you want. Then, the fun will begin, as each seedling from the pod will be different, some may look alike in some instances, but they will all be slightly different. Some may be white, some yellow, and some pink, and, that's the joy of growing brugs from seed. Trust me Thumbs up Sticking tongue out And, if yo pollinate them yourself, each plant can produce 3 or more pods, but be careful, the more seeds you get, the more you want to plant, and, space to grow them can become a factor, real quick Blinking Ask me how I know this Sighing!

Actually Donna, I have about 40 plants in the basement under lights, and upstairs in a spare bedroom, I have about 40 seedlings started. The hybridizing bug bit me about 4 years ago, and I have been growing waaayyyy too many brugs in the relatively small amount of space that I have. Good thing about it is that I have 3 or 4 brugs that probably will be named and registered this summer over on BGI. Here is one of them, a cross between El Dorado and Archangel.

Yup, from seed in only 9 months from sowing to bloom. That's part of the reason that I sort of lean towards the Aurea hybrids, they are sturdy, and grow fast. Thanks for the comments, it's one of my favorites, and will be the first one named. So, jump right in there and start some seeds, you may be surprised at what you get. All the info on hybridizing can be found in detail on the BGI site, check it out. here is another one that will be registered also, I love the yellow/oranges
