Help! I set the irrigation to water last night and it never turned off. We are sitting with a few lakes and I can't get the irrigation to shut off. I've switched off the breaker to the system and even turned off the main water to the house. The blasted thing keeps watering!! Do any of you know a person or company that can come out and just get it to turn off asap? The box in the ground has a thing that says off 1/4 turn but the box is full of water and there are wires in it....I'm brave but not that brave/stupid. Glare

I don't know anyone who does that work, Christina. When in a pinch I've used ToFixIt Services...Terry O' recommendations. I see irrigation specialists who service valley wide

We use Michael Willis 480-998-2505. He lives near Christown and came to west Glendale, so would probably go to Tolleson. We just had him here this week because one sprinkler was dribbling and not "on". Turned out to be a valve.
I don't understand how there could be any water running when the main is turned off. Our sprinkler system has a separate turnoff where it is taken off the main water supply to the house. So we can cut off water to the sprinkler system but still have water in the house. (I *think* all sprinler systems are like that.)

Harold, you nailed it! Ben (DH) knew a guy (who runs business his way) that is a plumber! He had me send a picture of our water shut off valve. Low and behold, there is a much smaller switch to shut off just the irrigation and the main valve does not shut off that part. Blinking I didn't even think about the other two smaller valves...silly me!! Thankfully, this was all carried out over the phone so no visit from a pro and thus, no charge!!! Hurray!

We just got home from visiting my parents in Greer and the irrigation has been shut off the whole time since I did not have time to fix the problem on Friday. We are pretty sure I broke my toe Friday morning trying not to step on our dog *Blush* so I wasn't able to do much other than get the rest of the packing done. There is a small part that may or may not need to be replaced and is said to be an easy do it yourself project. I will keep you all posted but it may not be until next week when I can hobble a little better and actually drive somewhere. Thank you so much everyone for your input!

Christina, when we built our current home, my DH and my brother were not allowed anywhere near anything to do with irrigation.

They messed up the one at the old house and I never got it to work correctly. Had one valve under the built in BBQ. Of course, the valve was there first but when my brother built the BBQ, he did not move the valve.

When we sold the house 10 years ago, we sold irrigation as is and made the new owners sign that specifically. And I told them personally it probably needed to be redone. .
If it is not going to affect you five years from now, do not let it get you down.

Glad you're all taken care of Christina! Just a phone call away! I guess everything got a nice deep watering! ... and we all learned something!

Sharon, That's funny ... or not Sad I had a concrete patio put down over an area where there was sprinkler heads. First thing I had the G.C. do was pull out the pipes and heads to meet up the perimeter of the new patio.

Yikes!! I am learning as I go with the irrigation...the timer has always seemed possessed but I never thought any further than that irrigation wise. Yes, everything got plenty of water and I am sure our monthly bill will reflect it very nicely Crying
When we get ready to sell...way down the road...I think an as is agreement is a great idea! Thumbs up
