Zuzu, thank you for the correction. I presume it shows the proper name now.

Sorry for the delay in answering, Fleur. I didn't know you had started a new thread. The proper name does show now, but if you want the photo to show up on the individual pages for the entries, you should go to the entry and get the plant ID# to type in the box provided for identification, or copy the URL address of the entry into the box, rather than typing the name of the plant. I'll do that to your photo and you'll see what I mean.

Zuzu, thank you for the reply and correction. Although I can't quite figure out the plant ID# you refer to, or the URL address to be entered into the box, I will learn to be more accurate next time. Hopefully. Thanks again.

Here's what I mean. Go to the entry for Geranium maculatum.

Wild Geranium (Geranium maculatum)

Each entry in the database has its own plant ID number. Scroll down to find the number. It's on the left-hand side, below the Editing Actions. Plant ID: 76660. After I drew the box in the multi-plant photo, I typed 76660 in the box asking for the plant name. The system converted the number to the name of the plant corresponding to that entry and automatically listed the plant above the photo, creating a clickable link to the plant.

It also automatically reproduced the photo on the page for Geranium maculatum. Scroll down and you'll see your photo among the multi-plant photos below the individual photos in this entry:

Wild Geranium (Geranium maculatum)

Isn't that nifty? This way, if people are looking for a good companion plant for the geranium, they can see how nice your pretty coleus looks with it.

The URL address is the address showing you where you are on the Internet. Look up above. The URL address for this thread is: The thread "Corrected Error" in Plant Combination #3021

Each entry in the database also has a URL address, so if you don't want to type the plant ID number into the identification box, you can copy the URL address and paste it into the box.

Zuzu, Thank you for the detailed steps. I will definitely follow through learning the procedure. Appreciate your help immensely. Is there any special section in ATP that these different procedures are spelled out for ATP website guidelines? I feel so "flub-a-dubbing" learning by making mistakes and burdening the Administrators with straightening me out. Again, thank you for your patience.

Unfortunately, there's no single place where all of these instructions are localized. That definitely should be done at some time.

I've posted a couple of threads in the Plant Database Forum that might be useful to you:

The thread "Common errors in new plant proposals" in Plant Database forum

The thread "Common errors in data proposals" in Plant Database forum

You're right, of course, that all of these instructional threads should be grouped together somewhere, but I want to assure you that the admins are not "burdened" by the mistakes members make. We're here to help you. If a member is submitting lots of proposals or photos and getting something wrong, we usually point out the errors to the member, and then we don't have to correct anything after that. In most cases, people submit just one or two proposals requiring correction, and that can't be considered a burden by anyone.

The main thing, though, is that everyone here is eager and willing to answer questions. If you're not sure about something, start a thread in the Ask a Question Forum, Plant Database Forum, or Site Talk Forum. People will be happy to answer your questions.
