Great observation Daylilybaby, Alfalfa is in the same family as peanuts and do look similar to peanut plants only taller.

I'm wondering if it could be sweet clover, e.g. Melilotus alba. It looks quite tall for alfalfa and the leaf margins are serrated most of the way around the leaflets, I don't recall alfalfa leaflets being serrated that much but I could be wrong. Apparently one way to tell is to look at the undersides of the leaves - alfalfa has short hairs on the underside whereas sweet clover doesn't. Of course the flowers would answer the question eventually Smiling

I thought so! I knew it is some kind of weed but since we have had chipmunks buried peanuts everywhere in the garden, which made me think of peanut. Usually I would pull any kind of weed or suspicious weeds, but I have no hurry with this one. Will just let it set for some more time until it blooms, then I will post a picture up for you. Thank you every one. You guys' been very helpful! Thank You!

LOL, We don't have Chipmunks here but I once had squirrels burying peanuts in the yard and Peanut (Arachis hypogaea) plants were popping up everywhere. An elderly neighbor said she couldn't believe they would sprout in the lawn like that. I took a few peanuts and stuck them in a pot of soil and gave the basket to her ... much to her surprise, she ended up with peanut plants! Green Grin!
