It is down at Washington Oaks State Gardens below St Augustine, Florida, It was injured last winter but recovered.
I am working on a article about it, going down tomorrow take more pictures.
Probable very very old. many of the plants down there have been there a long time.
Until last winter they had some Staghorn fern that where HUGE. They also have some bird of paradise plants that are over 20 feet around.
it is a great little garden. It is protected by the ocean on one side and the Inter Coastal water way on the other.
It is, just get back from there again, get some more pictures, a couple will need to be ID'ed but later I need to rest way to hot even for this Florida Native
Hi Sandy, I agree with everyone on the identification of your plant in question ... that's definitely P. bipinnatifidum. I've had a group of them growing in my side yard for 36+ years now. With our last two harsh winters and all the ice I wondered if they would survive but they came back like troopers once again even though we had numerous nights in the low to mid 20's and days that didn't even reach 40ºF! I consider the tree philo's quite hardy. I would love to read your article!
Showing ice and cold damage last winter:

~ Playing in the dirt is my therapy ... and I'm in therapy a lot!
After you've rested please post pic's of the others you need id's for and some of us will try to help. This heat has been brutal hasn't it? I can't stay outside for very long at all, I get overheated really quickly!
