I am curious if we can have a butterfly bush forum or are they considered a nuisance
to most on the forums? Would I post under the butterflys and hummingbird forum?

I love them and I have no problem with them here...in south alabama.

I have Miss Molly and would love to post her blooms and the butterfly
that came today to feed off her blooms..she is a magnet for butterflys
unlike some others..I found that Attraction was to the swallowtails
a magnet...some are not..

She is a gorgeous bush...and smaller type.

Sheri I love butterfly bushes too. I think you could post your pictures on the Gardening for Butterflies, Birds, and Bees forum -- if I were you I might start a thread there.

I know they are invasive in some regions, but for others of us they are really great plants. For myself, anyway, I would love to see your pictures.

Miss Molly is supposed to be sterile, and hopefully won't be a problem...

PS.
I checked out your pictures...
In the Deep South, you might want to try "Miss Huff" lantana for massive swallowtail activity...

Does that lantana stay contained and small like 2 foot by 2 foot
or grow to 4 foot by 4 foot as all I have bought does
even though it says it is smaller..

I had an old lantana once that they loved from an older lady
years ago ...it was the original one that grew to 5 foot by 5 foot
multicolored blooms

Everything here grows wider and higher and bigger!

Miss Huff grows huge...

And... I throw soil on the limbs to increase the size of the footprint...

Sorry... I don't have much use for those tiny ground hugging ones...

I do not have room for large plants anymore
I prefer the large salvias that grow 5 foot wide to 7 foot wide
perennial and lantanas but I just do not have room anymore..
thanks
Sheri
