They had been just fine, but they are looking worse and worse.. I'm half tempted to dig them up & toss them in the burn barrel. If there is a treatment I can give them other than that I'd give it a shot. Don't mind the grass & sticker bush... I can't get ahead of those this year.

thanks a bunch!

Have you had hot temps? They look like several of mine...just too hot and they begin to burn/yellow/die back...but shine again next spring.

It's been rather warm. I do have several hosta's but these are the only 2 so far looking like this. I sure hope that the warm temps is all it is.

Thanks!

Look for holes near the plant to be sure that voles aren't eating at the roots, too, and check to see if those are getting more sun than other hostas.

I have some that look like that too. I can't find any problem, and I'm just chalking it off to heat, and dry.

I agree with Kim, CJ and Polly -- I have a couple that get too much sun and they look like that too. Looks like the new growth coming in the middle is looking good! Dont throw em away -- they will be good once this terrible heat goes away!!! Thumbs up

yep sunburn, i am having a problem right now with a black sometimes grey beetle absolutely munching my hostas. t reduces them to lace and then stems. they are tough, i squash them and they continue on with their guts hanging out. they are creep[y. i have over 500 hostas, they seem to like the plain green ones best, but the will take ones with white too. i am sick about it, i just had shoulder surgery so i cant just pick them off and squash them. they are hard bodied and insecticide doesn't faze them.

any ideas? I will get a picture later and start a new thread.

I'm not sure, since I've never dealt with them. Here's an article. Does it seem like them to you.
