Got a flyer from Floyd Cove today, featuring their 2015 Fall introductions. Can't find them on their web site as yet, though.

The first item in the flyer is "Good Time Blues".
To me, it looks more like lilac, or lavender, yet they describe it as one of only two true blue daylilies for them ever.

Can't wait to get mine! It will probably be a few days before they appear on the website because I believe they have someone else do the programming.

Is one of them by any chance named BLUE ON BLUE?

Yes, and it looks even less blue than the one I mentioned.

I just discovered that Karen Pierce is posting a few new fall intros on their Facebook page each day for the next few days. She says there are 18 new intros.

I got mine today. I really liked alot of them, some different shapes and some nice reds with green throats. I cant remember exactlly, but i believe the one I wanted was called Pirates Island I think...or Red Raptor, Id take them both,. It was more of UFO, green throat, sunfast, and of course, the most expensive Crying I think another I liked had the name Peyton in it. Ill have to go get the catalog.

Yes, they are all gorgeous, but is that what you call "blue"? That's what I'm wondering.

No, Ive rarely seen anything I would call close to blue. Ive just learned to know what 'blue' means in daylilies, and that color is pretty consistent. I had Blue Desire, there was one day, in particular, I did swear I could see straight up blue. I think its weather, soil, all that. I could never get the camera to capture that tho.

I love Floyd Cove...their daylilies are beautiful and the bud counts on some are off the charts. It's their shipping price that scared me off... $20.00 and $1.00 for additional plants. I was looking at Rock Candy which is only $15.00 DF, but I can't pay more for the shipping than the plant. I would have to order a few plants to make it worth my while.

What is that Lyle? I consider the part of the eye against the throat to be what I call blue in daylilies.

Pat...weve all been in that daylily 'bind', at one time or another.
