Welcome to All Things Plants. Looks like it might be Desert Bird of Paradise (Erythrostemon gilliesii).

Someone can confirm this. I just searched yellow flower with long red stamens.

I googled "Desert Bird of Paradise" and found the image very similar to what I saw in Arizona. Appreciate your help!

Yep! That's Caesalpinia gilliesii alright. I just read recently that the classification was changed to something else, but I don't know if that was correct or not. I hope not! The blooms have a bit of a strong odor. Not exactly awful, but not really great either.

to ATP! Depending on where you are located, this plant might live outdoors. It does in my area and our winters usually have some temps in the teens. The trick is getting it established well before those temps occur. I'm in the more arid part ofTexas Zone 7b or 8a. I'm not really sure anymore.

It's really easy to grow. Very beautiful. Does smell like rotten peanut butter though.

Grows like a weed here. No problem with freezing temps. They reseed freely and grow quickly. I use them as short-term accents. I'll let a volunteer grow for a couple of years and then cut it down, let another grow somewhere else, and so on. Also they are a good colorful hedge along my alley fence... They don't need watering.
