These were on sale at Home Depot for 4.00. I picked up 4 of them. I hope they survive our winter.'

Suppose to be evergreen. Anyone growing this bush?

I don't know much about it but it is reportedly hardy in zones 6-9 so you should be fine. If you ever want to trade one of them for a Poncirus trifoliata 'Flying Dragon' tree or for something please let me know. I have several plant doubles I can share with you.

Thank you Daniel. If they survive the winter I might send you a T-mail.

They'll survive for sure. Would love to get my azalea propagating finger on that one. I bought some Christmas cheer and coral pink from Home Depot years ago and now I have 12 bushes of each that are now fully established along my house. Good luck, great plant!!
Gimme it and I'll grow it!

Wow Gabriel that should be pretty. Do you have pics?

I have tried to root a yellow one that my friend has and cannot seem to root any pieces.

I'd have to look thru my hard drive. If not I'll tag this thread and post some when they bloom again. They cover up the whole bush!

Okay. Any of these survive if you tell me what you need to propogate it I will send what you need. If they are going to survive I have 4 chances since I purchased 4 of them. Rolling on the floor laughing

I planted them in a protected area and I have piled up mulch and leaves around the area to see if I can at least pull them through the winter. They said we are suppose to have a mild winter which can be bad. When we have mild winters we get more freezing rain and no snow and a lot of freeze and thaw periods.

The best time for me is now actually for propagation. They're a woody stem so it's a Lil tougher and I just got lucky. I know they really start growing buds and new stems in the winter-super early spring.

I started with just little 2 to 3 inch cuttings from the tops, sides, wherever using root tip gel. I also extracted extra juice from a willow branch so it was an even higher concentrate for root tip growth. I cut about 20 of each one and just sat it in a pot outside and covered with leaves.

Some died but most survived. I honestly neglected them and just happen to remember I left the pot in the woods in the summer and WAH Lah! I did this seriously 3 years ago and won't do it again because it took so long. You may be able to cut different or bigger sizes too. If you cut an azalea now tho your gonna risk blooms for the spring.

I'm sure theres YouTube for this like other prop. vids. I just feel I got lucky. Other plants I've tried that I thought would be easier died almost in days.
Thumb of 2015-12-16/Cuzz4short/bd46ac this is actually another type. One of those big wispy ones, but nice huge flowers in the spring. But notice the green, nows the time for me to cut again..here in NC at least.

That is good results. I have tried to root a white one on my property that I thought is suppose to be easier by nicking the limb pulling down to the ground and put a rock over it. It has yet to take. That was a year ago. I will see what happens this Spring.

This is it.........................

Just a report......Out of the 4 it looks like 3 survived. I am saying 3 survived because 3 have started to bloom but one is not blooming.
