I grow it and actually have two small clumps. It grows well, sets seed, and proliferates.

Excellent photos Judy!

I've had COSMIC KALEIDOSCOPE for a couple years now. It took 2 seasons to get going but really hit its stride this year. I have it growing in the ground and it get's little special attention. I was nervous with the first winter but it came back and multiplied like a champ. This one regularly will also have proliferations on the scape.

For me it blooms pretty close to the registered specs though I can't say that I really ever measured or counted. It is fertile both ways in my hands. I also have the conversion of this plant and that too grows really well and blooms pretty reliably.

Great all around patterned DIP. I have had it for several years, easily fertile and produces a bunch of great seedling flowers. Also as mentioned almost every scape puts out proliferations.
Thanks

My fault most likely. I lost it when I divided it and gave some to a friend. I grew three seedlings out of it.

I lost the bottom seedling when it heaved in the spring. My fault again. I still have unbloomed seedlings from this third seedling combined with ALMIRA BUFFALO BONE JACKSON. The top seedling is being evaluated for possible introduction.

That middle one is quite interesting.

Thanks James,

I have seeds from it if you are interested. The cross was EMERALD STARBURST X CK, and all three seedlings came from the same pod....which is quite amazing considering how different they are.

I planted Cosmic Kaleidoscope in 2014 and it did not survive to 2015.
It did bloom and I liked it so much that I created more than 1000 seeds with it's pollen.
I will have to consider whether I give it another try.
The problem is that a $35 plant only growing one year is an expensive annual.
I bought Texas Kaleidoscope on the same order and it also died. So I really bought $60 of annuals.
Hopefully a couple thousand seedlings make something worthwhile.

I have grown Cosmic Kaleidoscope since 2011. I have not had any hardiness issues with it in my zone 4 conditions. I do not recall any proliferations on it here.

After not performing since year 1 [not enough sun/tree roots/moles...pick any 3 Whistling ], I potted it up and put a DF in a new bed that has lots of sun/ no tree roots and mole prevention. After surviving the "Big Freeze" in Feb 2021 It bloomed FFO 5/19 about a week before "peak" bloom. 9+ buds on the single scape with 4 proliferations...3 at one spot on the scape [i have this triple in a pot]. I also have the tet conversion but it has not bloomed yet.
