Got this for Christmas-temperature and humidity monitoring. Has 3 "tower" thermometers that send the readings back to the internet (via internet "bridge"device that comes with it and connects to your internet modem). Can set high and low temperature alerts (text and email) for each "tower". Can label each "tower" with your own meaningful wording (so you know the location). Will be nice to track the temps from anyplace -- whether home or not - via internet or cell phone app. Don't know if it will make me a better greenhouse gardener or not - but at least the plants won't fry or freeze. I have another unit that is not internet based that I got last year (with only one temp reading - this new one is great because I now have two GH joined (yet kept a bit separate with a curtain) -- and because I can monitor from anywhere via my cell phone.

I have this and it is great! I added the Weather Station display so that I could see it at night from my bed.

I did find that the towers can conflict with each other so I only use one on the alert. The 2nd one is connected to my backup display, and the third is in the box for emergency replacement if needed. I find that this setup works well for my 10x12.

It is worth it.

@shadytrake I didn't realize there was a Weather Station display that you could get too. I'll have to look that up - thanks for the info. I do have the alerts set to go to my cell phone - so if the temps fall (or rise) to certain levels I'll get a text message. So far I haven't had the towers conflict - but this is day one so I'll have to keep an eye-out.

@ecscuba you can also set a humidity alert. I use that to warn of low humidity in hot summer and high humidity in winter (possible water line break). I've had it for just over a year and it works great!

Also the AcuRite folks monitor from within the USA unlike the competition that monitors from India. Better customer support and service because they are local.

Thanks @shadytrake. I had noticed the humidity thing -- guess I need to pay attention to it too (haha). So far I am having great results with the temp readouts on my cell phone. I still kept another thermometer with alerts in there as a backup. Everything is working great so I'm a happy camper.

I'm looking fit something similar to this. Has something new been invented within this year? Something simple and is less expensive? I can monitor my gh from an indoor monitor but using my phone would be ideal. This item isn't necessary, I'm just a lazy Control Freak about the interior Temps in the gh while I'm away.

I am liking the LeCross WiFi thermometer. The trouble is, I barely have enough bandwidth to make it work. They are coming to install a second line next week. It's not just the new thermometer, but Alexa has joined the family. Our signal is now so weak it can't even support Alexa's accessories. Anyway, the thermometer is part time for now until that line gets put in. But it does work. I will be using the soil probe, too which will help me know when to water. It is hard to determine when things need water in that environment. I am used to watching the weather outside than inside. The probe will help that.
