I just purchased a 'Pink Clouds' Orchid, but it hasn't arrived yet. This will be my first attempt at growing an Orchid, and I certainly don't know anything about this variety. I would appreciate it if I could learn more about it, and how to care for it/

Could you possible give more name (Cattleya, Cymbidium, Paphiopedilum, Phalaenopsis...). Pink Cloud is a varietal for at least 4 vastly different orchids.

I think it is the last 'P' orchid you listed.

Phalaenopsis, pronounced Fay-lay-n-opsis.

Do you know if its coming in a pot or bareroot? Hopefully in a pot.

Phalaenopsis require a medium bright windowsill with some humidity. Kitchen windows with a little light shade are perfect. Otherwise, A saucer full of pebbles to sit on and water in the saucer will work. Don't let the plant sit in water, though.

Water when it begins to dry out, usually every 7 to 10 days. If you put your finger into the bottom of the pot into the growing medium (either bark or sphagnum moss), it should feel almost dry.

Fertilize once a month with a fertilizer made for orchids.

Phalaenopsis are some of the easiest to grow.

Send pictures when you get it and be sure to visit the orchid forum.
