How many years should you wait in order to sell an iris rhizome? I buy some on EBAY, and when they come you can see that they probably were split in the first year that they grew, they are so small! I have very bad luck trying to get them to grow, they seem stunted. When I get Them from Superstition, MidAmerica, or Schreiners, the rhizomes are huge! With many baby rhizomes attached already. Is there a certain amount of time a grower should wait before they sell a rhizome? I don't like paying out good money for tiny rhizomes. Please help!

An iris rhizome is a rhizome with leaves attached. There is no size requirement - it could be the size of a marble. A good seller will send you product that will make you happy and want to come back and buy from them again.

I do buy plants on Ebay but I keep track of my good/bad experiences. I also don't buy from sellers outside of the U.S. or sellers that have a mixed shop. If the seller is selling plants and car parts or lawn furniture or... he obviously is not in the nursery business.

Hope this helps.

Also, please do write a review to eBay for the seller that sold you those lousy little rhizomes. This will help other people to not get burned like you did.

I never buy anything off eBay if the seller has less than a 100% rating.
