I had to dig up some lily bulbs but the ground is too wet to plant them yet. How should I care for them until I'm able to plant them? Any help is appreciated.

I think you have to treat them the same way growers do when they ship them. Some sort of mulch in a plastic bag (put a couple holes in the bag or don't completely seal) in the refrigerator drawer. Lily bulbs need to stay damp but not wet and probably not touching. Wood shavings? Shredded newspaper? Sphagum moss?

Thank you, Daisy and Connie, for your response. There are too many to fit in my fridge but I'll cover them as suggested and keep them in my unheated shop. As soon as the ground dries up enough to work in it I'll get them planted.
