I finally saw the Doctor Who Christmas Special! I LOVED it! Smiling

River Song and this new Doctor have great chemistry.

Marilyn, I have a "Smart" TV that has internet connection so I can watch Netflix on my TV.

If you have a fairly new TV, you can watch Netflix on it by buying a device that connects to the USB port on your TV. This could be a Roku, Apple TV, or Chromecast.

We have alot of movies we bought from Feature Films for Families. Kid & family friendly, no cursing, drinking, smoking, sex, teaches values. Unfortunately, they're on VHS. I need to convert them onto DVD.

Ok, this isn't a movie, but it's driving my DH & me crazy - can't think of the name of a Sci-Fi tv series we used to watch all the time - I think it was from the '90's?
Anyway - storyline was that this guy was sure there were aliens among us, and he sought out this computer geek (who lived in a trailer, and was a recluse) who had a website about it. When he finally convinced the geek he was in earnest, the two of them went out in search of the aliens.
Can you please help me quit racking my few grey cells (and my DH's too) and help me find the name? He's sure it's a one-word name, and maybe begins with "M"?

nope, none of those sound right, Jim
Bob said he Thought it began with an M, but I don't remember it at all.
It was a series, but not The Invaders...... I think the lead actors were both unknowns until the series

nope - this is a tv series where the geek computer guy lives in a trailer and is a recluse. The lead actor goes to him trying to get his help. Initially he shuts the door in his face, but eventually they partner, to look for the aliens. It's kind of a two person alien hunt. I can't remember how long it ran, nor very much about it.... or how it ended. Not much help, am I?!?! Whistling Rolling on the floor laughing

I agree

The Martian I like more on an intellectual level, but Star Wars is pure entertainment!

I can not think of what that series might have been.

For Stephen King fans they are finally going to make a movie of the Gunslinger the first book from the Dark Tower series. I have been re-reading it over the last few weeks, 8 books so it takes awhile but well worth it.

Thanks to everyone who's been trying to help me figure out the tv series Whistling
I really appreciate it. Some night, when I can't sleep, it will "pop" into my head when I'm not thinking about it. Rolling my eyes. Smiling

Tallulah, The Lone Gunmen was an X-Files spin-off. Very short-lived (less than one full season), but fun!

The pilot, which aired in March 2001, was about a government conspiracy to fly a commercial plane into the Twin Towers to increase arms sales. As you can imagine, this is a popular series with conspiracy enthusiasts.

The series I'm thinking of was earlier than that, but also a conspiracy type, and one of the two lead guys was a blonde guy in his 30's

The one I'm thinking of isn't animation.

However - it will come to me at some point.

I started to answer about The Martian I agree it was more intense ,

Star wars , Made many years before introduced a more hi tech Animation with costume and real characters . Made as others said before , good fun !!!

The Pyramid , A monster Movie , A little more gore and a updated monster ,, in a " good old fashioned monster flick "

Reminds me of Friday or Saturday night 40 or 50 years ago ,
