Hi all,

I'm wondering if I need to do anything about these little maggots.
This artichoke was overwintered in a pot indoors, and then lived outside during the spring. It was infested with aphids and lost a lot of it's leaves to sun scorch and frost. Despite all the ways I accidentally almost killed it, it has a bunch of new growth. Since it is growing, I decided to plant it out in the garden, and saw these maggots on the roots when I went to plant it. Are these a problem? some of the roots are rotten I'm not sure whether to blame these maggots, or the terrible care it got this spring.
