I have this clump of foliage that I do think I am supposed to know what it is, but as some of you know when you reach a certain age your memory plays tricks with you. Do any of you know recognize it?

Did you grow dahlias last year near that area?

No, I didn't. There was a plant label for hardy asters nearby, but I don't think this foliage looks like that.

The foliage is actually darker that what it looks like in the pic and it is sort of shiny.
