Does anyone know the name of a plant that is fairly tall (2-3ft+ w/strong stems) that looks like a Cleome but I really believe it is not. It usually is seen in full sun. I have seen them in colors of pink, lilac and a purplish-blue. The flower itself is definitely not in a solid mass form but similar to the Cleome. Any suggestions? I am trying to ID this plant the best I can. I would appreciate the help.

What makes it different from Cleome? The old fashioned Cleome was quite tall, but there are newer ones that are only 3ft or so, could it be that? They come in the colours you mention too, as well as white.

Or an Allium?

Any other clues you can give us would be helpful.

They are quite similar. The one that I am referring to has little bell-like individual flowers in the clusters that sort of "hang downward."

Hello everyone! I've checked on the suggestions you all have given me and the closest has been the Bee Balm. The plant I am referring to has a "trumpet-like" flower. The colors seen are white (I checked my husband on this one.) The Spider Lilly, Allium, Fireweed, Gaura, and even the Cleome, etc. are not the ones. Sorry, I am unable to give you more info. I guess I will consider this question closed as I am not giving you enough to help me but it is appreciated!!

Linda Thank You!

No, unfortunately, other than having leaves like a Cleome. I really want to thank you for your trouble. I kind of wish I hadn't "bothered" anyone about this since I really do not have much information to give for anyone to help me. I thought they were Cleomes but my husband insists they weren't Glare .

Thank you again for trying! Most appreciated!! Angel Thank You!
