Hey everyone. I'm new to this site, and fairly new to gardening. Lilies are my favorite though. Trying to meet new people and share ideas. The last few years I have planted quite a few lilies. It all started with a couple asiatics by my mail box. Last year I added a few more, orientals and orienpets. Including a tom pouce, and a casa Blanca, and hot line. This spring I built a 36'×3'×8" flower bed just for lilies. With bulbs planted from B&d lilies, the lily garden, lily pad bulbs, and a couple other placed.

As I am new to planting bulbs, how long after planting bilbs, until I should see stalks?

Hi Nhra_20. Welcome!

You will see some little noses peeking up in 3 or 4 weeks. Not everything will nose up at once. It may take up to 6 weeks for some. Sounds like you will have a nice lily patch! Thumbs up

Thank you everyone! I can't wait to see the new bulbs pop up this season. I ordered so many different colors and styles. And knowing next season will be even better with them! I added organic bone meal in each spot I planted a bulb, along with a manure/humus mixture. My lilies from last year are already popping up with the mild winter we had here in southern Wisconsin. In the nights it got chilly I put out extra mulch. Yesterday i found two bulbs that had come close to the surface so i dug them down deeper. But i have found a few other stalks I'll need to get deeper in the fall after the growing season is done.

Also looks like almost every Lilly i planted last year has either split or made bulblets or had bulblets when i bought them as i have a lot more stalks coming up on each one!

Your pictures are really nice, Dave. Welcome to the land of lily! You have chosen quite a variety too, that look to be doing quite well.
If the weather warms up, you will see those noses peek through within the week I bet. They come boxed, ready to grow Thumbs up

Do share your pictures. We love to see members' lilies progress throughout the season.

Nicely grown, all of them. And very smart making a curve by your mailbox for easy mowing. Welcome!

Thank You! Rick. I'm just hoping that all this rain we have gotten the last few days doesn't damage the bulbs i have planted this year. Probably have close to $400 in bulbs this year!

Awe heck, they'll be just fine. Newly acquired bulbs purchased in the Spring have been in a cooler all winter and are always a little dehydrated. They could use a little rehydration.

Lorn, I read in another thread you are in or near kenosha? I'm in the rock county area so I'm sure you have gotten the same rain as I
