Dave,
It looks like a rabbit got hungry and I love the wall bed!

I'm anxious to see what I have left for lilies this year. Most of mine are old and my new strategy is going to be to dig and replant in pots, bury the pots and when they need dividing, just dig the pot up. I already had to move Asiatics before I lost them and they are all in a pot, lol. Now I'll have a chance to put my plan in action.

What lilies do you have? I lost one of my favorites, Muscadet. It was huge and just beautiful. Most growth is smaller this year so a rescue of all of them is in order.

Sally, probably was a rabbit. Darn critters anyway. Lol

To answer your question of what lilies i have would be a long post. Lol. I have a little of every. I have asiatics in the front yard. Then in the back yard i have asiatics, Orientals, trumpets, and the various hybrids also. I added a 36 foot long flower bed this season for lilies

Dave,
I have a few Asiatics I brought from home. I had to dig them last year and pot them up because they were dwindling fast. I have a few Orientals and a few trumpets. Not near enough. I envy the scent in your yard when they blooms.

I sincerely envy that bed!!!

Sally, thank you. But it's nothing to envy yet as its just a box of dirt. But filled with promise. There are a couple noses peeking through though. I will defiantly post pictures this year as it comes along

Oh trust me. There's plenty to envy, lol! Anticipation is great too. Can't wait for pictures! Surely some will bloom this year.

Recently "rescued" this lily from a nearby Bunnings. Pretty sure it's "Tiny Rocket" (the label states very prominently that it's a Lily Looks Asiatic and it's the right height), but just want to confirm this and also get an opinion on the discolouration at the end of the tepals. The weather here has been lousy the past fortnight, so I expect it's because the buds were damaged by the cold and wet (Bunnings was storing these outside in their nursery section and they appeared about a week before Mothers' Day). I've been keeping it inside, near a window, to try to protect it a bit.

It's way out of season for Melbourne, so I'm hoping it'll improve next summer. I'm removing the flowers as soon as they start to wilt and have also removed a few buds that looked obviously damaged in an attempt to reduce the impact of the shortened "rest" period that these bulbs will get as a result of being forced so far out of sync.

Joshua,
It's pretty! It will be interesting to see what it does next year when it's in your soil. I think it's Asiatic too.

Thought this was funny. The little Stem only has leaves on two side and they aren't alternating

Dave,
I'll have to look at the little sprout I uncovered in the phlox. It seems mine might look like yours with no alternating. My Black Beauty is up and thinning. I think I need to dig and refresh the dirt they're in.

Awww, now see, she's not too unreasonable! Bring her a scented lily to float in a glass jar and she will love them more, lol!

I see a lot of my older lilies have died out. I need to get my beds in order before I indulge in new ones. And, I need to plant them in the south bed, not the north so the breeze carries the scent....
