I took my children today. I am exhausted. No more than two trips next year. I went to Schreiner's and Mid-America. My daughter decided M-A is her favorite. I have some cell phone pictures to share for now.

Paul Black showed up and gave each of my kids a stem of Iris. He asked my daughter what her favorite color was, but surrounded by such beauty she couldn't choose. She was very excited to meet one of the hybridizers. My son took a lot of pictures. My daughter next to Gasper and Having a party. You can also see how glorious the display bed is.

You are making memories for you kids that they will have forever. Good to see them enjoying the blooms.

Thank you. I at least have my cell phone pictures because my husband didn't put the memory card back in the SLR after my last trip. My camera can't plug into the computer so I am upset.

I have done that before and just hate leaving the SD card in the laptop

I will just have to take more pictures. I needed to cool off. I think I will visit Mt. Pleasant Iris if I can this year with the family I have only seen pictures of Japanese iris in bloom.

My camera does connect to the computer via USB but I am so tired of the plug it in, go sit down and transfer, get up and unplug it again routine I am thinking of looking into WIFI cameras. Anyone have one??

I just bought one yesterday, but haven't figured out how to make it work yet.

My hope is the computer should be smart enough to 'see' the camera as a removable storage device when you power the camera up. Hopefully the camera has some really simple step by step instructions on connection and photo transfer.
Please let me know how it goes.

Well, I have WiFi, but not a lap top, so it's going to be more complicated, but I do think I might get a lap top eventually. The camera didn't come with memory cards either, so I have to go back and get some. I suppose I could grab a 10 year old off the street to show me how to use it,

How are you transferring your pictures now? I might learn something better.

I got a Canon SX610 HS

Is that good? beats me, it was on sale.

My Canon camera is also Wifi but I have the USB cable too so I have been transferring by USB. Been too busy to set up the Wifi part.

It's rated fairly good. Had one fault, didn't do good on long zoom shots. So I guess you can't take a photo of a bloom a mile or so out.
And I didn't find any bad reviews on ease of use. And my guess is most people use the USB connectivity option and don't bother with the WiFi.
But to me the goal would be go take some pictures without having to swing a rubber chicken around my head while singing Here Comes The Sun, come in the house, plop down in a chair and transfer photos to the the system with minimal effort. Hope never dies..
