This thread is for "just chatting". If anything gets said that every swap needs to hear, we'll copy it to some other thread.

I'm glad to hear it! It wouldn't be the same without you, you know. Big Grin

I should ask, how did you find it so quickly? Did the system give you a notice that a new seed swap had been created? Or have you been periodically scoping out the Seed Swap section?

I forget where I caught a sniff.

I THINK I was zipping past the Seed Swap Home Page ... (???) ... I forget why. I think someone asked a question about swapping Christmas Cacti and I wanted to say something about using the "seed swap" tool for creating a special-interest plant swap.

Every time I go close to this forum, I check for new seed swaps. And there you were!

Hmm, I'd love a feature where we could sign up to be notified of every new swap ... maybe 2-4 weeks before it goes active, to get some time for shopping.

Super excited to see another swap being hosted here. I missed your last one, DnD, but I did participate in Alana's. I love the format of these swaps, so I'm eager to participate again!

I am definitely looking forward to this seed swap, too, for many reasons! One reason, though, is that the sun scorched most of my seedlings while they were outside waiting to be planted, so I'm hoping to replace some of the seeds I used (and ran out of) trying to grow these seedlings. Big Grin

More than anything, though, it's just plain FUN! It's like a gardening game, and everyone wins in the end. Hurray!

I still have bunches , however if I get some new seeds or see what some may be interested in ,
I will wait to join , do have some new labels and likely I will only offer new seeds ,
That puts me nearer wild plants , only there are other possibilities ,
I will wait and see what I have , get , or come up with ,

These swaps are a great , very great ,,

Working on my trade list.....phew that is some work! But I learned my lesson from the last one don't wait until a few days before tickets are assigned. I have some not ready ones in anticipation of seed saving. Checked off the ones from last years swaps, verifying readiness. Went thru Veggies, A and just wrapping up beans. Maybe I will get to list my herbs this time around. Thanks to hail I have to add seeds from last year to my wish list to replace them....I will also get more containers to hold new seeds for this years swaps because I won't stop until I have all of them Rolling on the floor laughing So much to do while I wait for this years garden to start producing!

Cheryl, I lost a lot of my seedlings I planted from the last swap (dried out before I planted them) and some of them I used up nearly all (or all) of my seeds, so I'll have to replace some, too!

I wasn't sure where to post this ... I have secured permission from the conservation director of a 22 acre wooded & grassland facility where I am on the board of directors also , nodding to collect any and all Asclepius sullavantii ( Sullivant's or Prairie Milkweed ) seeds pods this fall as they consider them to be just another weed to be mowed even tho I explained their increasingly dwindling habitat in its native areas due to indiscriminate mowing and weed eradication Blinking Glare Grumbling . I'm not looking to swap necessarily as I don't know precisely when the seeds pods will have dried up enough naturally to collect , but just investigating whether anyone here would be interested in receiving some . Hi Pegasys.

@molanic was looking for that plant, based on an entry here:

@Jimard8 - Jim, I find that I'm making a bunch of red-red or red-purple crosses this year with you in mind. I remember being disappointed in the last seed swap that I didn't have more red varieties that I could offer up in the swap for you to claim dibs on. That shouldn't be the case this year! It's all in how well the pollinations take, of course, but I have made a LOT of red crosses, so there should be plenty to go around for everyone in this swap. I can't possibly grow them all! Rolling my eyes.
