It is now almost the end of May and our River Birch Tree still doesn't have all its leaves. There are still a lot of (don't know what they are called) worm like yellow seedlings hanging from the tree. Is this normal? I'm really beginning to worry as I love this tree.

None of the birch trees have leafed out yet in my area -- so, if you're pretty far north I'd say it is normal. The fact that it has catkins on it is a good sign that it is happy, I'd say Smiling
