Is it any different taking care of a tangerine tree than an orange tree?

Would not think so, Faith. But a little extra insect control to prevent infection by Citrus Greening is necessary these days.

County Extensions in Florida are not recommending anyone plant new citrus until the disease is under control.

I live on the "closer to the west coast" side of the country (Nevada) and have never heard of "citrus greening" as citrus (except for Trifoliate Orange which I suspect is NOT a citrus) do not grow here. I have heard a lot about it but would love it if someone explained it.

Thanks!

Daisy

Here ya go, Daisy. This disease has basically shut down the citrus industry in Florida, and is still spreading westward wherever there are citrus trees.

Interesting reading. Hopefully a cure or prevention is found before it gets all the way to the west coast. Thank You!
