I thought I would start a new thread for everyone to post what they have blooming this month.
I planted seeds for Hibiscus cannabinus 'Amethyst a couple of month ago and I got my first bloom today.

Here is the first bloom from "Le Petit Prince". It came from Jill, the Hibiscus Lady in Hawaii. I also bought "Nizhoni", but it hasn't bloomed yet this year. I do have one noid that has bloomed non-stop for a year! It is the red/orange one. If any of you know the ID I'd appreciate it.

That's lovely, Jay. I'd love to grow hibiscus outdoors but I have severe problems with deer, rabbits and javelinas. I'm out of room in my small greenhouse. Sad

JCMG had Creole Lady for sale for the last two spring sales. They went like hot cakes! Actually, all the hibiscuses were gone by the end of sale.

That's where I got mine this year. They sold out of Hibiscus fast. I was at about the middle of the line when the gates opened and by the time I got in they were almost all gone.

I'll have to suggest JCMG know that more hibiscuses needed for the next sale.

I was so tempted...

Where did you get the amethyst seeds?

I sowed some peppermint schnapps seeds but they didn't germinate.

I picked them up in one of the ATP seed swaps in January. I started seeds of Blue River II, Honeymoon Deep Red, a different wild form of Hibiscus moscheutos sold as Hibiscus californicus (it grows only in California), Hibiscus geranioides, Hibiscus striatus subsp. striatus (sold under it synonym Hibiscus cisplatinus), Hibiscus pusillus, and two different varieties of Hibiscus mutabilis. If there is any Hibiscus on my plant list you are interested in let me know, I will save seeds or make cuttings. We live close enough we can swap in person.

Thanks, Jay. I would like that very much. I lost my 'bloody mary' hibiscus, the red one. Are you still looking for violets?
