Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Ring Around Rosie')

I have an iris that I (think) I purchased at a WalMart store years ago. To me it looks like it could be Ring Around Rosie. The height is exactly as registered on the link above. Here are pictures of my iris. Some years the color is more pale as you can see in the year 2012. It is a mid to mid/late bloomer. Anyone have input on this?

I think it's very close if not an exact match.

Looks a lot and acts a lot like Ring Around Rosie. The color can vary a quite a bit on her from year to year. It's usually one of the last to bloom here, but I moved it last year and it didn't bloom this year.

That's exactly what it's doing. The others are on a fast down hill display and she just started to bloom.
They were all early this year because of the early warm days and the perfect timing of rain that followed.

All of my Ring around Rosie have a speckled burst on the standards. I didn't know Rosie could not have them.

My Ring Around Rosie never has speckles on the standards. Think that's something unique to your garden, Spring -- soil maybe?

Possibly... I have noticed some of my iris occasionally seem to have a more intense vivid coloring display than others are showing. Not always.

I thought the speckles were the "Rosie" in the ring.

The original song was from Europe about the plague which came with a rash of measle like spots... encircled in enflamation.

Lol. Hence that's where I thought the flower got it's name.

Lol.

Maybe I'm the one with a "Rosie" look a like.
😀😀.

Everyone who sees them as well as I surely do enjoy those pretty purple sunburst speckles. Schreiners Rosie is not speckled and does not mention speckled.

It would be interesting to obtain another RAR and see if that one develops the speckles.

Every picture you have posted of your Iris is gorgeous. If your soil has the plague it a good plague.

Peteuske's flower DOES have the spots...

they are so faint that they almost don't exist. Look very closely. I see them.

And so muddy mitts...

There a few like grey ghosts of a shadow.

Just look at for a second and you will start to see them?

If you enlarge this picture you can see that I also have some tiny speckles. the color looks blue a bit due to the old camera that liked making things look blue.

I see them!

But no 'Rosie' makes a spray of clutter like mine. She has been around my teenagers too long and probably picked it up from them. 😀
