How many of you do a daily garden "walk-around" to see what's just come into bloom and what absolutely must be done (or should have been done yesterday), and how do you keep track of all of this?
That's a great idea and yes, I live off of scraps of paper! My son got my mower started last week and the grass was thigh high. I couldn't see my chickens or Chihuahua! But I got it done so here's where the list comes in!
I have found for the most part its best to do it when you see the needed task . If its something that must be put off I do wait until I get in the house and write it on page off a sticky pad and stick it to the table where I will have my morning coffee.
Plants are like that little ray of sunshine on a rainy day.
The hardest tasks for me are the ones I need to get supplies for or purchase new equipment. I hate making a special trip for a hose etc.. So I try to remember these things during the week and pick them up when I am passing appropriate store, etc..
I have a calendar book I write the weather in. I have a calendar I printed with seed start notes, when fruit appeared etc. I want to be more diligent in what sets fruit when. I have an abundance of records I need to sort out. I try,but I lose steam in the heat and when I have pounds and pounds of tomatoes coming off.
