Hello there,
i have recently joined this forum and find very helpful people, thank you very much for that.

today when i check my plants to say good morning, i have noticed something strange with my basil.
Black dots. than a green worm. Looks like its dying.
This plan was in my friend house, in a outdoor garden, one week ago i take it and put it in my kitchen (who have big windows because before was a balcony).

So what can cause this? and how to take care of that?
Two days before i have added a leaf from this basil to my pasta (then was in perfect condition). Should i be worried?

thanks in advance, you are the best.

Hi Elvis.

The black dots appear to be what is called frass....droppings from the caterpillar that is eating your basil. Otherwise the basil looks to be alright. You need to remove the worm and before using the basil to cook, gently rinse off the leaves. I would check all the leaves for other worms, both top and bottom. There is no need to worry otherwise.

Glad you are enjoying NGA.
