because the leaves are so tall, thin, and dark.

This is completely normal for this variety, it's only the new growth which is pale silvery green. I've grown Moonshine for over 20 years and have had several different plants.

Interesting, TYVM! How long did it take for the leaves to get that tall? I haven't seen any leaves more than about a foot tall in the 4 yrs I've had this plant. It makes tons if identical babies. They do fade with age, but don't get taller.

I'm not sure TBH. I think the best way to get more of the pale leaves is to divide the plant and make it produce offsets. I do like the contrast between young and old leaves though.

TYVM! I have tons of babies, I've been giving them away in the fall for the past few yrs. I put them in the ground for summer and they go crazy with growing new pups (& the landscaping is so much more interesting, IMVHO.) Agree, they area always an almost-white color, like your pic.

I put my M in a lot less sun this summer & ended up with a much taller leaf. Will experiment more with lower light next year. Thanks again!

I have been nursing along a few little pups for quite a while now.. They did grow some this summer but not much. I guess they will be remaining that pretty white for a long long time here .

Tiff, So glad I saw this post today. My snake plants are not growing as fast as I would like indoors during the warm months. I've been thinking about just putting the pots outside, but I think I will try putting them in the ground. I'm just a zone away from you, I think, in Arkansas. Might wait for next year since fall is creeping up on us.
