I have a house tree which I don't know the exact name but you probably can identify it from the attached pictures. I read that brown stains could be over watering but I don't think this true in my case as I water it once in 2 weeks or even longer. What does it look to you?

Thanks

Its Dracena fragrans commonly called 'Corn Plant'. Maybe it needs more water. Water when the top inch or so of soil is dry.

It is a Dracaena.
They do not like to have their roots wet, but they do better with a misting when they are grown inside. The a/c and heater dry out the air and cause spots on the leaves and tips, also, soluble salts from fertilizer build up in the soil and cause the leaf tips to brown and should be flushed out yearly.

Hi & welcome!

Agree, it's Dracaena fragrans.
Corn Plant (Dracaena fragrans)

Dracaenas are sensitive to various substances in tap water such as chlorination, fluoride, and lime. Whenever possible, use rain or distilled water, or condensate from a dehumidifier or A/C. Does its' pot have a hole in the bottom for excess water to escape when you water?
