It isn't the swallowtail... any ideas?
Kinda a gnarly little thing. Leaves this. .silk all over and kills the leaves it doesn't eat. It does eat plenty though.

The pics aren't quite clear enough but could it be carrot seed moth? Compare with these Google pictures

Weird, it does look like that, but it says it isn't an issue for garden carrots because they only eat the seeds. The buggers are eating and killing the leaves.

Thanks!

Well.. just saw this moth flying around. It wouldn't sit still for a picture but from what I caught.. it is looking a lot like that carrot seed moth isn't it?

The U of MN master gardeners got back to me with their 2nd disappointing answer... 0 for 2 for them. The first question was about some yellowing leaves on my gooseberries and they said it was normal and to ignore it. In fact, it was a sign of low nitrogen and they needed fertilizer badly and almost lost all their leaves but, I digress. They answered the question here by saying it might be a worm or maybe something else. Try some BT and see what happens.

That moth kinda calls it for me - do you think that picture matches up?

Thanks for your help!

I think that's a butterfly, maybe Pieris rapae, imported cabbageworm. If it's imported cabbageworm the caterpillars don't look like yours.

Oh. Well that's disappointing. I already knew I was picking cabbage worms off the kohlrabi. I was hoping that was the proof. Oh well. Doesn't mean the worms aren't carrot seed moths.. just that I didn't catch the moth. I'll keep looking.

Yup, that picture is a cabbage moth. Lays eggs on all sorts of cabbage family plants which turn into little green worms that eat, eat, eat.

Don't know that one. Looks like a GGC (Generic Green Caterpillar).
