While I have grown this plant for a few years, I cannot give a fair evaluation of its performance as it has been suffering in a 1.5 gallon pot all this time. Rolling my eyes.

It performs as a dormant, here in my Zone 9 garden.

I will say that while the color stands out and is attractive from a distance, up close the blooms (which have a yellow-to-gold underlay) appear to be somewhat muddy (at least to my eyes). That would make it a middle or back of the border daylily, in my book.
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

These two pictures were taken exactly one year apart of each other. I always find it interesting how a daylily can vary in color due to soil and weather conditions. I like that it is a taller daylily and that it holds its color in the heat of the day. It's nice to see the color even at the end of a hot day, as it does not fade out. It increases fairly well for me and makes a striking clump. It is a keeper in my book.

I planted this in the Spring of 2022. It promptly turned around and bloomed from June 11-24, popping out 4 flowers. Then HDF spent the rest of the summer doubling it's fans. I love this flower! I think it is searingly bright, visible across the yard from my house. Super cool, and looking forward to seeing it perform next summer.

2023 update…this year, HDF remained at 4 fans and bloomed from July 8-23, with 12 blooms…so, improving slowly.
