Not the best year for Electric Mist (but had a lot of company in that regard). This one grows well here--good bud count and holds quite well. A color that captures your attention without being gaudy.

I would agree with mantisOH - it grows well and color holds well throughout the day. For me, it has been slow to increase.

Been too busy to post much, but saw this and wanted to lend a voice. I have had it for years, and bought it for it's green throat. It has never disappointed. Easy pod setter. I have never tried the pollen.

It makes pretty babies, nothing earth shattering, but simple and pretty.

Electric Mist is one of my favorites in my garden. I love its striking color combination and especially how vibrant the colors can be. At times, I am disappointed with the change I see from the seller's photograph to the actual color in my garden, but not with Electric Mist. My only complaint is that I wish it increased at a faster rate.

Am I correct that this plant was hybridized in Florida? I don't see it being grown very far down south? Anyone down around zone 8 growing this?

I am your Zone 8a grower, and perhaps people in the warmer zones will do a report. Electric Mist has been here two years and I love it. The color combination is a real favorite of mine--really love that big green throat and the purple color of the flower. It certainly stands out for me. This plant began blooming May 12 and it is just now finishing up because after the initial scapes, it produced two new scapes--not bad, I say, over two and a half months of flowers. One thing, it will rust, but in our garden, it has not been decimated by the rust like some of our other DLS have. I will tolerate the rust because I love those flowers.

Mine is planted where it gets some afternoon shade from taller plants, the bloom is beautiful. Mine has been slow to increase likely due to our colder climate which on the other hand keeps rust at bay.
If you want to be happy for a lifetime plant a garden!
Faith is the postage stamp on our prayers!
