Thread OP

I have three of these rose bushes in my yard. They've been there much longer than I've lived in the house, so I do not know what they are. They were planted along a decorative fence and sprout long stems, but I don't believe they are climbers. I'm garden impaired, so I'm looking for basic advice on pruning and care. Thank you.

Welcome Kajg! It may help the experts if you can describe the rose more fully: how long have you owned the house, does it have thorns, is there a fragrance, does it bloom repeatedly? And anything else you notice about it. Also the folks on the rose forum may be more helpful.

The roses have been here probably since the house was built in 1994. The bushes are six feet tall and four feet wide. I have been cutting them back in the fall to half their height and trying to control the suckers that pop up all over, but I really don't know anything about pruning roses, except what I've gleaned from You Tube tutorials. Blooms have no fragrance than I can detect, they bloom continuously; stems have thorns. The buds grow in clusters. I'm in Zone 4A.

Welcome!
Sounds like a wonderful Rose to have growth like that in zone 4! Hope we find out the name. It's very pretty!
Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get.
