Question;
Is this a Sedum or not?
If so could someone share the name of it w/ me pls?
A coworker of mine's partner got one stem w/ leaves from a work colleague.
My coworker states her partner just "stuck it in the ground and it grew."
By the "sticking it in the ground and it grew" comment, my guess is that it is a Sedum and it surely looks like one to me.
These are the only 2 photos she's shared w/ me.
I've asked her to bring me a stem so I can look at it more closely and, so grow one too.

Yes that is a sedum, and a very nice one. It has been reclassified as a Phedimus instead of Sedum. Phedimus kamtschaticus.
You will love it in your garden.

I just KNEW you’d come to my rescue w/ an answer because you’re a Sedum and Hens-n-Chicks expert.
I Googled Phedimus Kamtschaticus images and found this particular bloom posted among many others.
Will this plant grow as tall as my Autumn Joy Sedums or will it be shorter?
When Karen brings the bloom to me next week I’d like to plant it w/ my Autumn Joy Sedums to add a bit of color to the 2 big gardens I’ve grown the past couple of years.
Will these still have flowers and, turn darker as Summer progresses into Fall like the Autumn Joys do?

Oh, and by the way, I’ve got 4 Hens (I had 2 others produce already and go to seed as well.) that are blooming and will turn to seed soon.
All of them ended up being white I was hoping that they’d turn out to be pink or red.
Even the ones w/ the more pointier leaves ended up being white.
I’m not complaining as I am happy to have them to enjoy after all of these years of growing them.
I’m still referring to them as “dragons” as I still think they look as such.

I remember your dragons.
Would love to see a photo of them blooming.

Your new sedum will stay short, more of a ground cover. But it should look great growing around the base of your Autumn Joy. It's blooms will not last as long as Autumn Joy and over course bloom at a different time.

Awwhh shucks, I thought they'd be as tall as my Autumn Joys so I could stick them in w/ my others to break up the color a bit.
I've got some daisies sprinkled in w/ the Autumn Joys in the backyard as I used to have them in that area but moved them, these were persistent and I didn't have the heart to remove them.
But perhaps as u suggested the yellow shorter ones will do as ground cover but not w/ the others as there's just no room, my Autumn Joys are huge and spilling over the area where I've got them located.
Below are pics of them that I took when they started blooming.
My coworkers has yet to come thru and deliver the yellows ones to me, I may have to gently remind her when we meet up again.

Front yard, they are blooming.


Backyard;
Both of my Autumn Joy gardens were "built" by just sticking a stem here and there as I only had 4 blooms to start w/ as I "borrowed" them from the resort that we were staying at 2 or 3 yrs ago.
LOL borrowed but they are not getting them back.

Here are my Dragons

Front yard (R side)
This was the 1st one to bloom and there are 4 more ready to take off.
I removed this one when the other 4 bloomed as it was looking pretty bad.

I took these pics today, they are a comin alrighty.
The one in the foreground really looks Dragonish to me.


Front yard (L side)
This one's comin too, it's lonesome and the only one that's bloomed on the L side.

Shaw that is an impressive sedum hedge you have, and all in only two years.
I adore your dragon ground cover. That semp has done an amazing job of creating a wonderful ground cover.
