Good evening, These little ones popped through the soil three weeks ago. Being new to Adeniums I am amazed at their progress.

Are they all arabicums? I love how these seeds grow so fast and do so for awhile. Then they slow later. They look good. They can stay in those pots for awhile. Watch they don't dry out but are not soggy. Do you have them in this heat wave, You have more humidity, I am on 15%

Marica, I bought a packet of obesum mixed singles. This is my first time growing Adenium from seed, so everything is an experience. I started them in my basement under lights, I started some outside and also moved some outside. The weather here has been in the 90's and humidity % in the 70's, getting a little relief this week.

I have very low humidity so It would be slightly different soil then you. You can google gritty mix and many of us you that with adjustments to what ingredients we can get. I use zeolite (non clumping happy cat litter), Small Grostone, pine bark, equal portions and a slight amount of core powder. There are a lot who use a non sand cactus mix with added perlite. The water needs to pour right through so the roots don't stay soggy. Kadie can also post what she uses so you can see what she uses.

I am not sure my media mix would be good for zone 7b. I live in zone 11b with a wet tropical climate and my adeniums grow outdoors year-round. Also, I am striving to grow my plants in a more organic media than what many would recommend in other environs.

Tin, I make my own mix. The seedlings in the pix above (#1-2 parts potting soil, 1 part grit, #2-2 parts coconut coir, 1 part grit). I am now using a mix of 1:1:1 pumice/#2 cherrystone/zeolite to start my seeds. They are watered with a dilute fertilizer, 1/8 tsp. 9-3-6, and 1/8 tsp. Pro-Tekt per gallon of tap water. The seedlings pictured here are in a soil-less mix, one is 100% pumice (bottom) and one is 50% pumice 50% #2 cherrystone (top).

Do they sell pumice and #2 cherrystone at Home Depot?

Go on the Home Depot web site. The HD page tracks your location and will automatically send you to your nearest HD page. From there you could inquire, and if they have those items it would also give you info as to how much/many they have in stock at the moment.

Tin, I got my pumice (#8) online at General Pumice Products (http://www.generalpumiceproduc...). The #2 cherrystone is chicken grit and is available at any farm store. The one in my area is Farm & Fleet. Zeolite is Happy Cat Cat Litter (unscented), and can be ordered from Home Depot.

Thanks you two. I repotted one adult adenium two months ago. I used 15% soil, 65% perlite, 10% small rocks, and 10% orchid mix that I have left over (barks and charcoal). It looks like it's doing well. Lots of new leaves.
