I went outside to measure my semps after reading what Terri said: "I'm dyin' to see the big one!". So then I thought to ask, "What is everybody else's biggest semps measuring up to?"
I'm showing my 2 biggest semps knowing that these will be easy to top by those who think size matters.
This is Unicorn in growing stage:
This is Jolly Green Giant which I hope doesn't get any bigger:

Oh I'm lovin' that! I have to go out in this soupy, humid mess and take a look at who's doing what out there. I have a few new semps that promise to be big. Julia sent me a gorgeous selection of plants, which included 'Exorna' and it is already huge!
Wish I hadn't let my 'Unicorn' bloom out last summer!
Excellent thread, Bev! I hope everyone chimes in with their biggest! I'll sit here with a pen and take copious notes!

Ooh, thanks Chris for giving us that one! Any chance you can measure it later and edit your post to add the "big" number? I just want to have a number with the picture when I brag about my friend in WI with the "big one"...

That is a fantastic NOID, Tim! I must schlep out to measure 'Starshine'. It was looking big when I moved it last week. 'Lavender and Old Lace' too.
Very busy day for me. Hubby's birthday means cooking most of the day. Eggs for breakfast, big garden salad for lunch. Double chocolate cake, baked macaroni and cheese, baked salmon and early sweet corn from our garden for dinner. No way I'm cooking anything tomorrow!

My semps are mostly small to middle sized. My biggest one until now used to have about 8" before it flowered recently. My current biggest one is about 5" in diameter, but I saw its mother at about 12" diameter, when I received the 2" chick in May from a local nursery. They told me they once received it under the name 'giganteum ...or something else that means big". A NOID I would say.

Wow Michael, I think we'd all love to see that 'giganteum' noid!
The wheels are already turning, trying to figure out how I can score a piece of that potentially 12" noid!

When I received it, it was plain greenish grey since then it has grown significantly, coloured up nicely and has grown 4 offsets.
Here is what it currenty looks like in its 8" pot.
Patty said:Well mine is not even a runner up - when I moved in Sept I only brought chicks or smallish hens with me so Red Rum is my winner at about 5 1/2"
This thread was started for each person to show the largest semp in their gardens. Everybody has a largest one... so everybody's a winner. (I can't believe I just said that )
