Hi, I have recently joined, about a week ago I found all of the leaves and stems of my houseplant pot are dying and yesterday I found on my plant some leaves has dead stems on it. I started cutting off these stems dying, I dug through the soil, and found there are dozen of worms. I re-potted my plant with new wet soil without any worm. OK what should I do next, Please? here is

Worms are good. Did you hear me? Worms are GOOD for the soil. They help keep the soil aerated and light. Plus worm casings, aka worm poo, has some of the BEST fertilizer that people actually raise worms for poop!

May I ask when you got your houseplant? Because if there were worms in the pot, that means it has been outside for some time. It could be that it is adjusting from being outside then brought indoors to your home and showing temporary stress? Depends on when you got it and how long it has been inside. The schefflera, which you have do not like a lot of water. Let it dry out between watering. Nice shade plant but it likes a little light and not complete darkness.

Also because schefflera tend to root fairly easy. often stores will sell them when they have barely rooted. Could you tell if your plant was fully rooted when you transplanted?

Your plant looks like Schefflera. I would say that you've done good! Give it time to settle in. Recuperate, and it will let you know, when you begin to see growth/new growth....I think you've done all you can do at this point. Let it settle in. I have a dracaena/Corn plant that I found in a similar condition...I didn't want a plant with a root ball full of worms, so I did as you did...It has recovered nicely....

It depends what you mean by "worms". Do you mean earthworms? I doubt there would be a dozen in a pot like that, or were they some kind of grub? Can you describe what you found? Did you wash all the soil off before you repotted?
