Synopsis; ordered BEAUTIFUL EDGINGS on the LA as a five fan clump. It bloomed the next year (one fan) clearly not BEAUTIFUL EDGINGS, thence forth known as NOID. I notified the seller who sent five replacement fans which I planted. This summer two of the new fans bloomed and neither was slightly like BEAUTIFUL EDGINGS and they were completely different from each other so we're named NOIDNOID and NOIDNOIDNOID. A new scape appeared on one of the first five previously unbloomed fans and low and behold it wasn't BEAUTIFUL EDGINGS nor did it match NOID, its sister bloom and so the two bloomed fans in the first group were named NOID sub one and NOID sub two.

So far I had four different unknown daylilys from a single order and its replacement order. Recently two new fans appeared on two previously unbloomed fans from the second replacement group of five. One bloomed yesterday and the second bloomed today.

You guessed it ... no you didn't, they are both BEAUTIFUL EDGINGS!!!

Six fans bloomed, two are what I ordered, four to go. Anyone want to hazard a guess of what those four are? New NOIDS? Matches with previous NOIDS? BEAUTIFUL EDGINGS? The first true blue self daylily? Carrots? I haven't the slightest idea but am eagerly awaiting the outcome.

Thank you for reading.

Charley

Sending the wrong plant is my worst nightmare.

And, of course, as a retired teacher, I still have nightmares about not being in the classroom, forgetting where my classroom is located, or even forgetting where I teach. Thank goodness these are only nightmares.

I am well up there in years, and it has only been relatively recently (the last few years) that I finally stopped having dreams along the lines of: it's finals week, and you suddenly realize that a (highly technical/scientific/difficult) class that you haven't been to for most of the semester (but somehow forgot to drop and only just now (when it is way too late) realize that D'Oh! ) is having its final exam in two hours... Crying (In case you were wondering, yes, many years of college here... with more than a few nightmarish finals weeks! Rolling on the floor laughing )
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

Now that my daughter has gotten her M.S. degree, those dreams seem to have maybe gone away (knock on wood). Of course, now she has started having similar dreams... Rolling on the floor laughing (Interestingly enough, DH also had similar dreams for many years, but the nightmare classes that he was imminently having a final exam in were things like English...)

I can't say I ever have those dreams (I was the weirdo who looked forward to tests and finals...It's more like I have insomnia because I have to be at school at 7:45- but leave the house at 6:45 and then I get stuck in thinking about needing to sleep. Which means it doesn't happen. By that point, it's 3:30 and I have to be up in 2 1/2 hours and I'm gonna be grouchy the next day no matter what- and it's the first day of school... And I'll be teaching fresh uh.. Confused PC? Freshfolks? Freshpeople? First year high schoolers!

I'd rather have your bad dreams! Smiling

I agree That would drive me nuts! Well, at least you did get some other cultivars that you weren't expecting, along with a few fans of what you actually ordered. Blinking

It's funny .... I've been working with students for almost 15 years now as well as a Director of large Playgroup 8 years prior to that and I've never had nightmares about any of it. I know I dream, but I rarely remember any dreams or nightmares. I guess when I hit the bed at night .... I'm out cold. Zzzzzzzzzzzz Sticking tongue out

Mike, now that I am retired and I have a lot of time to work in the gardens, I am working an average of 60 hours a week trying to catch up. Furthere, I also keep adding plants and many seedlings. The goal is to eliminate all grass on these two lots, totaling just under one acre.

This cracked me up as I have the recurring dreams where I go to school without clothes on and that I never graduated! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing I obviously have never done this and I DID graduate!!! nodding nodding
And Gerry I love that you are trying to fill your two lots so you don't have to mow - if my husband had his way I would probably fill the entire 3 acres with flowers so he wouldn't have to mow but I'm a little behind on that one, but I keep trying a little at a time!
