So a couple of weeks ago I stopped at a local nursery to see what they had and picked up 2 plants. I noticed that one of their plants was mislabeled at "Lacey Doily" because it was totally different than what I have. It was the only plant that they had in that section and I looked at the other labels and none of them matched up. It was a really cute flower and I really kind of wanted it.
In the meantime I bought "Bakabana" and loved it wanted a second one. So today I stopped in and they had a bunch of the flower upfront. Again there is this cute little one mislabeled and I look to see what else is there,.... a beautiful Daring Deception was blooming and it was totally mislabeled as "Little Anna Rosa" so I jump online real quick and sure enough that other cute one is "Little Anna Rosa."
The owner happened to be there and we started chatting and I told him about the mislabeling and he told me how he gets his daylilies from a local small nursery and how he is always picking random ones for lack of knowing otherwise. He invited me to help him make a selection next April when it is time to order them...... I think he was impressed that I owned about 120 different varieties.
So then we are inside and I am telling him how I love bud-builders, and we are comparing the scapes and I am like, wow, it looks like "Little Anna Rosa" could be a bud-builder. He is impressed by that little bit of info about what a bud-builder is.
So home I come and go to add "Little Anna Rosa" to my data base and low and behold, guess what?????? It is a bud-builder!!!!!!
A year ago, I would have been clueless!!!
