Are there any "whites"/near-whites with red eyezones? They can be diploid or tetraploid preference for round rather than spidery.

Maurice,

I don't grow any CVs with this characteristic, but found these conducting a search for color description of white with red eye.

http://garden.org/plants/group...

Edited to add that I found these by searching for eyed and only entering white in the color description...
Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Abilene Lillian')
Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Be My Girl')
Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Black Rock Spire')

Wow! Thanks for the info on searching Stan. I completely passed up the "color description" section on the search feature here before.

When I typed "white with red eye", I got different results. This is just a copy and paste, so the names aren't linked to the database.

Stu Kendig in PA has this as one of his focuses in his hybridizing program. He has a number of them. My favorite is TAKE THE RED EYE. Here's a link: http://www.hardyhems.com/Galle... . Well I take this back in part. Although take the red eye looks fairly white in his website picture, he has registered it as pink with a red eye. Go figure!

This one may not be white enough nor the eyezone red enough and I don't know if the edge is unwanted, but just in case, since it's hardy here in my garden:

Oops, told a fib. Whistling

Well, kind of. It is registered peach pink with cherry red eye and edged. I would say its more a cream colored here, but still a nice CV that I received as something else. I'm not complaining at all as I love this one,

Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Triple Cherries')

While not "white", the "cream" 'Cherry Custard Cheesecake' has a pretty flower with a red-rose eye, with partial edging in the same color.

Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

I grow Ageless beauty

description says cream with red eye. Mine is almost white and it looks a lot like "take the red eye" (I was just wondering what the differences are)

I had beautiful blooms on small-ish first-year plants of Richard Norris' Remembered Kisses. Same with Benz's Ruby Lipstick. Both of them opened like watch cases, with good color and form.

I have a "blooming-size" piece of Marilyn Monroe, but for some reason it hasn't flowered yet, even though it was good-sized last fall when I planted it. This time of year there's still a chance that it could throw a late scape from the center of the fan, "rebloom-style", but overall, the plant doesn't seem to be settling in normally.

The three I know of have been mentioned - Bullfrog Kisses, Remembered Kisses and Raspberries in Cream. I have the first two and to me, they aren't really a true red, more of a dark raspberry color. I have only had BF less than a year, so maybe it will be more red when it settles in - others pictures of it sure seem to show it as red. I really love Remembered Kisses.
