I have no idea about gardening! And I just got given this beautiful potted plant by my date ❤️ Which by searching google I discovered is a Chinese bell flower. I want to nurture it the right way. I found care guidelines here on the NGA website, most helpfully! it thrives in direct sunlight and likes moist soil only. Is it necessary to dead-head? A couple of the flowers are brown on the edges and wilting! Is this normal? My date says I should talk to the plant and tell it positive things Smiling I will try but I need a little practical guidance too haha!

Dead heading might improve the appearance of the plant, but it isn't necessary. I grow Platycodon grandiflorus in the ground, so my experience might not apply to specimens grown in containers.
