Hoping you all can help me get my garden mojo back. All the heat and humidity has made me a hermit lately, and I am now so behind with my vegetable garden and the weeds are completely out of control. Let the counseling begin ! Sighing! Thank You!

Welcome! TinaJ!

If it makes you feel any better, I'm in the same boat as you! Hilarious! It's cooled off the past couple of days with the rain, which helps. Smiling

I know how you feel! The hot humid weather takes it out of me really quickly. I have spent the last two weekends pulling weeds. Today, dodging raindrops, I got three bags of mulch spread over the bare spots. Got about four big trashcans full that will be picked up by city recycling. At first I was overwhelmed too, but just went out early and little by little I felt like I was making progress. Tonight looking out the window it makes me feel encouraged, the tide is turning. But my yard and beds are small so I can see progress quickly. Just pick one area and tackle that. Cooler weather will be coming soon which will make it easier for us all!

Welcome, TinaJ! We're all suffering from this weather also! As soon as the rain lets up, I run out to do a little rearranging of pots but then the heat drive me back indoors. Can't win!

Welcome Tina. I hope you have gotten a little more energy from this cooler weather. I finally went out this weekend after hiding indoors too

The heat keeps me inside. Now that we've had some rain, I might get out there an pull some weeds while the soil is easier to work...

I'd like to plant a couple of fall crops. In an effort to get motivated, I should go pull out my seed box(es).

So the oppressive heat has kept me inside and lazy. Then all of a sudden I got 4" of rain and that kept me inside and lazier. Happy that the rain brought relatively cooler weather, I drag my lazy self outside and wham! Skeeters everywhere and I'd rather stay inside and be lazy. Um, maybe this won't help you get your mojo back but I feel better.

Mojo in Texas waits for Indian summer. Rolling on the floor laughing if it gets here. Agreed, I agree one eye on weeds, one eye on remembering when to start new stuff. One spot at a time, or even just sit back and make a plan... Welcome!

I don't begin to battle your heat (I simply couldn't live in that environment), but when I find myself overwhelmed, I try to get out for short spurts, with a goal of perhaps a 3' swath, or whatever is manageable for you to easily tend. Maybe it's just one wheelbarrow full. Something easily attained. Immediate gratification and slow steady progress. I also follow the shade, and think nothing of simply moving spots when the sun hits me.

I'm also a big fan of just sitting and staring at one garden to see what is working, what is not, and note changes to make in the fall or spring. They don't always get done, but it's nice to get a nice crisp fall day, open my Garden Ideas notebook and make a couple changes here and there.

Good luck with your mojo.

Welcome! Tina; hope you're getting your mojo back. Those red lycoris are lovely. Only one bloom thus far for me.
