I have a pic from Longwood gardens of TH 'Candy Striper' - it is quite different from the other cultivar TH 'Candy Stripe'.
We also have 'Candy Stripper'.

Is it possible there is a mix up in naming : Striper vs Stripper? and which one is correct?

The picture in your link is a photo of 'Candy Stripper.' The name is misspelled in the Longwood link. The Hibiscus was registered as Candy Stripper.

I searched the International Hibiscus Society website and it lists the following two but 'Candy Striper' came back with 0 records so I guess it is possible that Longwood Gardens has the name misspelled.

I think the Longwood photo looks exactly like Candy Stripper. It's possible that someone at Longwood assumed the name was spelled incorrectly and "corrected" it. 'Candy Stripper' is probably an intentional misspelling of the common term 'Candy Striper,' to convey a more risque meaning, and it's also possible that the hybridizer simply couldn't spell well and meant to name the plant 'Candy Striper,' but it is the official name of the plant.
