Thread OP

The rootstock of the peach tree in the picture has sprouted next to the tree. The leaves of the sprout look quite a bit different from the peach tree above. The man who sold me the tree 4 years ago claimed that it was grafted "on some other kind of peach tree". But to me the rootstock sprout looks rather like some kind of almond or something else "non-peach".Can anyone identify that rootstock? In the first picture I've marked the peach tree with a red arrow and the rootstock sprout with a yellow arrow to make it clearer.

I know nothing about Peach or Almond trees except that they are both in the same genus of plants (Prunus):
Peaches (Prunus persica)
Almond (Prunus dulcis)

Hopefully someone knowledgeable with Peach will be along with suggestions soon.

lovell is a very common rootstock for plums, peaches, nectarines, apricots, prunes, and almonds. I'd go as far to say the most common used on peaches. It has narrow leaves like in the photo and is known to sucker.
