Brown isn't a color that I thought of much for semps, but it works quite well and there are several quite nice cultivars out there.

So... whaddya got that's brown? Or brownish anyway. Brownish-orange, brownish-pink, brownish-green... whatever. Here's my 'Nouveau Pastel' which I chose specifically for it's brown coloration. Just like me, it seems to have really disliked the recent 100+ degree temps.

I really like the brown ones and hope to see some flowering next year for crossings. I got 'Kelpone' and 'Bronze Pastel' and some brownish NOIDs. And I ordered 'Chocolate Pepper' from Martin Haberer. I'll pick it up next weekend...

Interesting thread, will have to go out and look over the plants see what is brownish today.

Ooh... I forgot about 'Hiddes Roosje'. More green than brown as the days have shortened.

Hmmm... I hadn't considered all of these maroon-brown or red-browns. But if devil's food isn't brown then I don't know what is. And I need only the slightest excuse to post yet another picture of my fave 'Pacific Devils Food'.

'Faramir' seems to fall in the the brownish category. If nothing else, the color seems fairly unique, at least among my collection.

I got that one from you, Lynn. And I chose it because you put it your "Must Have" list from that great "your must haves" thread from last year. Now it's on my "must have" list and may even carry the top honors in my semp garden this year.
