It's a patented and trademarked cultivar name.

sorry but do you realise there is no such thing as a trademarked cultivar name Trademarks have absolutely nothing to do with cultivar names

If you look at the database page for this plant, it clearly states,

" Trade Name: Breeze™
Cultivar name: 'LM300' "

No where does it state that "Breeze" is a cultivar name. You'll notice that the name isn't even framed by single quotation marks which, if present, would imply that it was a cultivar name. The name "Breeze" is only given a position of prominence on the page due to the fact that most users will only recognize the plant by this trademarked name. Very few people would recognize the real cultivar name of 'LM300'.

Zuzu certainly know the difference as she deals with such distinctions on a daily basis. She likely just mistyped in the above post.

Although not the case in this instance, at times in can be difficult to track down the real cultivar name for some plants. That is sometimes the case when they have the seemingly nonsensical names consisting of letters and numbers. (There often is sense to the string of letters and numbers, but it is hardly obvious.) If you do notice any of these in the database and have knowledge of the true cultivar name, then please propose an edit to the plant's name. To do so, scroll to the bottom of the plant's database page until you see,

" Editing Actions:

» Edit data details
» Edit plant name "

Then choose "Edit plant name" to propose the edits. A moderator will then verify and make appropriate changes.

NGA strives to have the most accurate database and assistance with keeping data accurate is much appreciated. Smiling
