Thanks Rita for the new thread and the name of those salts, I am going to try them as I can't stand this, it is making my legs feel weak.

Rosie, no it is not my shoes, I haven't been able to wear heels for a couple of years because of arthritis in my feet, at home I have a good quality slippers that have good support and are very comfortable, when I go shopping or whatever I wear comfortable hikers or runners, winter it is boots, no more fancy dress up places for me anymore.

It is better to be comfortable than to worry about fancy shoes!! nodding

I just got back from the post office and then the supermarket. I needed milk as I was out. I buy Silk Very Vanilla Soy milk for my cereal. And I bought a small dairy milk. I hate dairy milk, I quit drinking it when I was in my early teens. But I need some for cooking. It is getting pancake weather again and I need milk for the pancake mix!! Also need it for the Knohr Lipton packaged side dishes that I like to make.

Didn't get much, the milks and some rolls, cheese, a small package of potato salad, English muffins. I was gonna get a package of chicken thighs but they had no such thing. They had all sorts of chicken breasts and the had boned skinless thigh cutlets but I don't want either.

The rain had stopped and my timing is good as I see it starting to rain again now.

Margaret, some meds can cause muscle pain and/or spasm. Have you and your doctor reevaluated your meds lately? That's one of my current plans of attack for the leg pain- eliminating one med for a month... increasing the doseage on another...stopping another. It might be worth considering when you see your doc if you're taking prescription meds, and/or herbs and/or supplements. Just a thought.

Karen, yes I know some meds can cause muscle pain and leg cramps, I have not discussed it with the doctor yet as it has just recently gotten worse, so maybe next time I see him I will mention it. It is horrible to be in so much pain and discomfort with those darn cramps.

Rita, those salts are not sold in Canada, but I got Hyland's caplets to relax leg and foot cramps, the pharmacist said it was ok to take them with my meds, I sure hope it helps.

That seems to have quinine in it. (Quinine used to be used in the U.S. for leg cramps but was taken off the market due to deadly cardiac arrythmias). I assume the amount of quinine in the product is minute. My doctor suggested that I drink a glass of tonic water (which also contains small amounts of quinine) before bed. All it seems to do is make me get up to go to the bathroom. Thumbs down

Anyway, let me know if that product helps you

Karen, there is an improvement, especially last night, although I have to be careful about position or my feet and legs will try and cramp. I did do some calf stretching yesterday and I am going to try and do it again today. The muscles are still tender from Monday morning, no wonder you can't do anything for a week after a bad cramp.

Tired from working out in the garden all day. All the bending and stooping and twisting and pulling.

At least I made great progress pulling out veggie plants that have had it and are done. Slowly getting the done for tomato plants out but plenty are still going strong. Pulled out all the melon vines. Pulled out more summer squash. Pulled out more tomatoes. Everything is bagged or bundled up for the yard waste pickup.

Well, get something to drink and then set off to take my dog for an exercise walk. No wonder I am dragged tired by the time I am done for the day.

Rita, you have an amazing amount of energy. Thumbs up

I just finished doing 30 minutes on the treadmill and glider and a few leg stretches. This morning I raked up twigs and small branches under the willow from the wind we had the other day. I need to get on the patio roof soon and do some pruning on that willow. Rolling my eyes.
